Kym Latham started Taylan Cleaning in 2014 and built it with her sister Alwa from the ground up. The name is Kym's children's, Taylah and Harlan, blended into one.

In 2019 the business became a proprietary company, running from a purpose-designed workshop and commercial laundry in Barrack Heights. Kym and Alwa still manage the business and guide the crew, and that does not mean staying off the tools.
Their approach has not changed since the first jobs in Shellharbour: listen closely to customer feedback and pay attention to detail in every part of the work. Every staff member is inducted and trained by an experienced Taylan manager. Cleaning checklists and feedback forms track every job, and only quality chemicals and equipment are used, within WHS and environmental standards.
If a site needs a training or certification the crew does not yet hold, Taylan will complete the training, inductions or certification required. The aim is long-term working relationships, not one-off jobs.
